The Old Pueblo: New Memories & Old Traditions

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Can you believe it's already February? While the rest of the country is shoveling snow, we are lucky enough to be enjoying the best weather in the world. This month, Tucson is absolutely buzzing with energy, and I wanted to share a few highlights that make me so proud to call this city home.

Better Late Than Never: The Tucson Rodeo!
I have a confession to make. I’ve lived in Tucson since 1987, yet I have never actually been to the Tucson Rodeo (La Fiesta de los Vaqueros). I know, I knowhow is that possible?

After nearly four decades, I will be putting my cowboy hat and boots and heading 101st Tucson Rodeo this month. Excited to go and experience the world’s largest non-motorized parade and the incredible athleticism of the rodeo itself. It’s a reminder that no matter how long we’ve been here, there is always a new "first" waiting for us. I can't wait to share the photos with you next month!

Don't Miss These February Highlights

If you’re looking to get out and enjoy the city, here are three things on my radar right now:

Tucson Festival of Books (March 14-15): Technically just around the corner, but the buzz starts now! It’s the third-largest book festival in the US, right on the beautiful UofA mall.

The Culinary Scene: Have you tried Los Milics Tasting Room downtown yet? It just opened in January and is a must-visit for anyone who loves local Arizona wine. I will be heading ther this Thursday evening to experience it with friends. I love their winery and wines down in Elgin, so I am excited that they are closer to home. Also, keep an eye out for the reopening of The Flying V at Loews Ventana Canyon on February 20th, the views are unmatched.

Los Millics Winery - Elgin

The Gem & Mineral Show: The city is still glowing from the world-famous showcase. Even if you missed the main event at the TCC, there are still local treasures to be found in the boutique shops around town.

Real Estate Corner

Tucson continues to be a destination of choice for people looking for both lifestyle and value. Whether you’re curious about what your home is worth in today’s market or you’re looking to find your own piece of the desert, I am always here to be your resource.

I’d love to hear from you—what’s your favorite Tucson tradition? Or, like me, is there something you’ve been "meaning to do" since the 80s? Reply and let me know!

Warmly, Diane
